Office Based Counseling occurs in a safe office environment. It can employ a number of different clinical approaches some of which may extend outside of the office environment itself. Please see below for more information. There are links provided throughout the short descriptions that lead to more detailed information.

Our
Clinical Approachs

01

EMDR

EMDR is a trauma integration therapy that activates the brain’s natural ability to heal from traumatic experiences.  The EMDR therapy protocol activates this natural ability we all have within us. EMDR is not a cure all and does not work for everyone. However for those that it does help, the positive effects can be profound and life long.

03

EFT

Emotionally Focused Therapy helps a client look at the interaction of early attachment experiences, bonding and current relational experiences and aims to shift those experiences to ones that reflect a more secure attachment pattern.

05

Experiental

Experiential Therapy is a form of therapy that uses current experiences to create new neurological patterns of behaviors. The more new patterns one creates, the more they get reinforced and the less likely one is to default into old patterns of behavior. This approach can work well with clients and typically children who are resistant to more traditional forms of talk therapy as it can often use the environment to create these experiences more naturally.

02

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy involves the education of the relationships between thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how all can be impacted and shaped by past experiences. Clinical work focuses of shifting one or more elements of the triangle to help the client see change in their current life experiences.

04

Reality Based

Reality Therapy is a client-centered form of CBT that focuses on improving present relationships and circumstances, while avoiding discussion of past events initially. This approach is based on the idea that our most important need is to be loved, to feel that we belong, and that all other basic needs can be satisfied only by building strong connections with others.  The goal of reality therapy is to help people take control of improving their own lives by learning to make better choices.

06

Play Therapy

Play Therapy uses the act of play to assist a child in the expression of affect and unmet needs, conflict and process. It can be directive or non-directive and can also occur outside of the normal office setting.

This has been the best help my sons has ever gotten. Aaron goes above and beyond to help and be available for any need we have. Aaron's therapy approach can be outside of the box and creative while having amazing impact in order to help kids relate and open up in the most safe environment possible. He has all the training available but Aaron has instincts that can't be taught and this is why I believe he is one of the best therapist out there. The whole practice is ran on integrity and authenticity....
